Anita Desai: In Custody e Fasting, Feasting
Abstract
This paper focuses on the analysis of Anita Desai’s novels: In Custody and Fasting, Feasting. The paper highlights some paradigmatic features of the writer’s work that can well exemplify aspects of Postcolonial studies: first of all the definition of a cultural identity precariously balanced between the need for modernity and for traditions to be preserved, and a peculiar relationship with the past seen from the view point of of family traditions, different generations and gender.
